Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and talented Data Insights Analyst to join the Strategic Initiatives Office (SIO) within the Business Analytics organization. The role of a Data Insights Analyst is crucial in shaping an organization's future direction and ensuring that decisions are grounded in data and aligned with strategic goals. This position requires a blend of analytical expertise, strategic thinking, and effective communication to drive positive outcomes for the organization.

Key Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute data-driven strategies that align with the company's mission and goals.
  • Provide guidance on long-term and short-term strategic planning initiatives.
  • Interpret and analyze complex data sets, utilizing various statistical methods to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights.
  • Present findings and insights to internal stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs, identify key metrics, and define data requirements for various projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, data scientists, and developers, to identify opportunities for process improvement and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Utilize BI tools to create and distribute reports.
  • Perform detailed data analysis to determine the structure, content, and quality of data through examination of source systems and data samples.
  • Develop and update technical documentation as necessary.
  • Develop risk mitigation plans to ensure successful strategy implementation.
  • Resolve issues or escalate risk to next level of management as necessary.

Supervision Received:

  • Direct supervision from the Manager of Analytics and Reporting is received weekly or as needed.

Qualifications:  

Education Required:  

  • Basic knowledge in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, or nearing graduation from such a program.

Experience Required:

  • None.

Required Licensure, Certification or Conditions of Employment:

  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check

Competencies, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Strong skills in data analysis and statistical modeling.
  • Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Demonstrates resilience & resourcefulness while operating in a matrixed, fast-paced environment, at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a complex matrixed environment across departments, at varying levels of management
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and adapt one's approach to suit a particular audience or situation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) required to effectively maintain strong working relationships with internal and external colleagues.
  • Excellent at facilitation and relationship management skills. Able to coach others and discuss facilitation strategy.
  • Leads discussions in a way that builds trust and inspires action among the audience.
  • Strong focus on service to internal and external customers. Recognition of the enabling nature of project management.
  • Earn the trust of business / project owners as well as SIO Staff
  • Identify areas of concern or constraint, and actively advocate within the PMO for needed resources. Address with the Governance Body as needed for other constraints.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:  

  • Ability to work East Coast business hours.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the position.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • No or very limited physical effort required. No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
